Twitter… ruined?

So in case you haven’t noticed twitter has exploded, I have been seeing and hearing twitter mentioned on tv and around town. I am of two minds on this. On one hand its nice to see more people and not get the ??? look when you mention twitter, but at the same time the nerd/geek factor is gone. Technology is the purview of the nerd & geek and as “normal” people invade more of our space it feels less special in some ways. The “regular” folks have always had IRL to influence and mold and we had the technology space. The lines have started to blur and I am not sure I like that. I loved having my little clique just like the preps and stoners had in high school, I had nerdery, but with them becoming more and more tech savvy they are invading my special place. The real question is are they improving it or ruining it?

It’s quiet in the morning of December 7 1941

But not for long on the ” Day that will live in infamy ” It has been 67 years since that day and I didn’t hear anyone mention it. I was born and raised in Hawaii and I am of Japanese decent. Thankfully I am not old enough to have been involved or interned like so many other Japanese Americans. George Takei was interned as a child. I have mixed feelings about this day and some of what it represents. The American loving Patriotic side of me is saddened by the loss of life but also proud of our nations determination. I am also saddened about how many Japanese Americans were treated. More-so then any other ethnicity they I feel were treated unfairly. I have many books that tell the story and they all share one thing a love for this country despite there treatment. It is a testament to there hearts that they could endure this and still have a love for our country. I know our country is not perfect, and these people who are part of it make up for our imperfection and help us to shine.

Thank you to all who have gone before and who now as I write this defend and protect us. God Bless

Great giveaway and why I do not want you to enter!

Gear Live is giving away over $6000 worth of computer equipment, which I desperately need. For the first time in over 10 years I am the owner of a single computer…and its killing me. So if you don’t want to see me die you will not enter the contest and you will let me win. I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself..”Is it worth it a human life for the chance to win some gear that I don’t even need?” If you feel you must kill me you can go to http://tiny.cc/urFpm #glmagic

Bailout where’s my check sucka!

So somebody please explain it to me why are we giving money to all these big businesses? I thought it was sink or swim? If I own a small business hit hard by the downturn can I get a bailout? No? I thought not. So my hard earned money is going to businesses that can’t weather the storm. Who is making the choices on who gets it and who doesn’t?  AIG wastes 300K + on a resort meeting but the big three get a no so AIG is more important then the auto makers? Am I way off base? Do I not understand the admittedly complex economic factors?

A tech lover’s call to arms | The Digital Home – Don Reisinger

A tech lover’s call to arms | The Digital Home – Don Reisinger’s take on the tech closest to home – CNET Blogs

A very provocative article but I think we should take it one step further it is not only technology that has been attacked but our very society. There has been ridiculous assaults on our freedoms. An overall abdicating of personal responsibility not just in tech..witness the schools systems the  medical crisis. No one wants to step up to the plate and say ENOUGH! I agree we need to rise up ALL of us and not just in tech but in all facets of our society. The touchy feely method of society has got to stop I don’t want anymore excuses. If you screw up fess up! Don’t blame others.

Reasons given for having abortions, Sex for free!

Reasons given for having abortions in the United States

THIS is exactly why I am against abortion. The majority of cases are using abortion as a connivence service so they can have sex free of responsibilities. Sex is a significant and important act that should be taken seriously. It is an act that fosters love and intimacy. The trend in society has been to debase it and make it all about physical satisfaction. Yes there is that, but the more important and deeper aspect is how it strengthens a relationship. 98%……sad there is a cost to sex its not free there is an investment physically and emotionally, and anyone who says different is just fooling themselves.
